Nice vintage hat that shows a few small spots (from rain I would guess) and a little dust on the outside, but other than that the outside is in great shape !
The inside has a few scratches on the crown and a few on the suede band. Maybe the hat peg had a sharp edge or something ???
The sale price reflects the condition issues.
The paper size label is hardly bent so I don't think this could have been worn many times at all.
The band is stamped in gold letters: 'SUEDE' and 'Established 1817 Mallory'
Besides the attatched size label (a 7), there is a fabric label that reads 'Mallory Hats Reknowned Since 1817'
All letters on all labels are capitolized.
It is about 10 1/2 across x 11 1/2 inches front to back - brim to brim across the hat.
Inside is about 6 1/2 x 7 1/2 across and about 5 1/2" deep.
The slightly curved up brim is about 2 inches wide.
There is a double row of two-toned cording that is formed into a loop and a tassle type detail.
Tucked within the cording, is a boar bristle (perhaps) shaped into a feather with a small orange/red and brown feather in front around the band.
* I do not clean the items - I sell them in the same condition as I find them as I am not an expert.
As hats are delicate, they need to be sent in a box and packed carefully which means it adds to the cost of getting it to you, but this cannot be helped.
