Nice N.O.S. (new old stock - meaning older, but never sold so never used) vintage hat that I would guess was to be sold as a 'Mourning" hat sometime between the 1910 and the 1940's.
It could possibly be even older, but is hard to attatch a date as it was designed to be rather plain for a reason.
It is about 9 x 9 inches from edge to edge across the hat.
Inside is about 7 x 7 across and about 6" deep in the front and back and about 7" on the sides.
This hat, although designed to be mostly dull and plain to show respect, does have a little touch of decoration in the form of a grosgrain bow on the front and two dull black buttons sewn onto either side on the folds which give the hat its fitted shape.
* I do not clean the items - I sell them in the same condition as I find them as I am not an expert.
As hats are delicate, they need to be sent in a box and packed carefully which means it adds to the cost of getting it to you, but this cannot be helped.
