These are hand embroidered with Straw Hats, Flowers, and Ribbons....
This beautiful pair of vintage pillowcases also has a hand crocheted edge done in white crochet thread.
I got these from an estate sale.
They are such pretty pillowcases.
These were made many years ago were washed, starched and ironed by the original maker.
Of course, they have some yellowing due to age (much of it - if not all of it - may be from the old starch and might come out upon washing in Biz)
* I did take a few dollars off of the price just in case it did not come out after washing - although the design itself and the crocheted edging is worth a pretty penny and much more than I am asking so either way, it's a good deal.
One looks like it was used a few times, but isn't too bad and a soaking with Biz might be enough.
The other one looks like she might have scorched it when she was starching and ironing it, but the 6 inch end section of the design and edging on both of them shows no wear that I could see, but refer to the photo to check for yourself.
This section (as well as the pillowcases) is 22 inches across as a pillowcase - it would be 44 inches across if cut in half and used in some other way.
If the Biz works and you can use them as pillowcase, they are 31" long.
These are being sold as "cutters" which means to remove the design portions and reuse them elsewhere.
These can be used as they were intended if the Biz works.
I hope it does, but I am pricing these low in case it does not work for these.
The hand work on these is just too beautiful to waste and would be wonderful to reuse on a new pair of pillowcases or as part of a quilt, or even framed... as art.
The price reflects that the main value of these is the design section.
I am not an expert and I have not washed them.
They are coming to you just like you see them and the same way they came out of the house where they were stored in plastic in a cedar chest.
As I said, looks pretty good except for what I noted and the design sections are gorgeous !
Of course, they will need washed to remove the old starch and to freshen them up.
I do not know if the household had pets - they do NOT smell like smoke at all to me so I don't believe anyone in the household was a smoker.
There are no returns as I am offering this at a good price and I have posted a photo, so please look at the photo and ask any questions before you buy.
